*This is the intro to a six-part blog series regarding negotiating real estate… I mean, anything!
My former boss was a pretty skilled negotiator. For more than eight years, he ran talent acquisitions for the organization and negotiated hundreds of deals totaling over $1 billion in contracts. I spent some time with him a few years ago while on a work assignment in California and was able to pick his brain on some of the tactics he used prior to and during negotiations. The next few hours turned out to be much more valuable than any book I had read on the subject.
The next series of posts focus on the most essential practices that prepared him to negotiate the best deal possible, and can be applied to negotiating anything – from business acquisitions and employment contracts, to vehicles and real estate.
On-deck… What’s your “walk-away” number?
